Trust Governance Structure

Our school has an Academy Governance Committee (AGC) that has delegated responsibilities from the Trust Board of Directors as outlined in the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation.  They engage with our local community.  They do not hold the school to account.  However, they carry out the following role:

Vision and Values

Agree the vision and values for the academy with reference to the SIAMS schedule, in partnership with the academy community, ensuring they are aligned with the Trust’s vision and embracing equality.

Monitor that the vision and values are being ‘lived out’ in all aspects of the life of the school.

Our AGC has a current membership as detailed below.

I joined Ringstead Primary School in April 2015 as the EYFS and Year 1 Class Teacher. In September 2019, I became the Head of School and continued to teach in Early Years. In September 2020, I took on my current role at Ringstead as Headteacher.

In my spare time, I am a Flight Lieutenant within the RAF Air Cadets.  I am responsible for running the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award across South and East Midlands Wing, which involves supporting over 30 squadrons in enabling cadets to achieve their Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards.

I have a young family, consisting of two daughters, who as they age will hopefully enjoy the outdoors as much as my husband and I do!

I’m thrilled and honoured to have been appointed as Chair of Governors at Ringstead CE Primary School. As a parent of three wonderful children, 2 of which are currently in Years 1 and 5, I have a personal and heartfelt connection to our school community. It’s inspiring to witness the dedication and support that helps every pupil flourish across all year groups.

Our commitment as a governing body is to continue listening carefully, taking meaningful action, and providing clear feedback to parents, staff, and pupils alike — all with the goal of nurturing a thriving, supportive, and forward-thinking school environment.

In my professional life, I serve as the Head of Operations for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough at the East of England Ambulance Service Trust. I work closely with people from diverse backgrounds to ensure they receive the right care at the right time, while leading projects that drive positive transformation and improvements within our health services. My passion for wellbeing and health equity within our communities is something I hope to bring to our school’s ongoing development and growth.

Please feel free to reach out to any of our governors if you have questions. Together, we can continue to make Ringstead CE Primary School a fantastic place for all our children to learn and grow.

Alex Laurent

Chair of Academy Governance Committee and Parent Governor.

Please contact Mr Laurent via a.laurent@ringstead.pdet.org.uk should there be anything you wish to share or discuss in relation to our school.

I’m a proud parent of a child in Year 5 at Ringstead—a school that truly lives by its values. I’m incredibly grateful that my child has the opportunity to learn and grow in such a fantastic setting. I’m also delighted to be part of the School Forum as Pupil and Staff voice representative.

With a background in supporting children, young people, and families through working at various children’s charities, I bring a wealth of experience to this role. I’m passionate about advocating for our young people and ensuring we consider the child’s voice in everything we do.

I am committed to supporting the school to create a safe, happy, and enriching environment where every child can thrive. I look forward to working with the school, connecting with more of our community, and helping to create a place for our children to flourish, leaving a lasting, positive impact on every young person who attends the school.

Mrs Nikki Sleight

Vice Chair of Governors/ Community Governor

My name is Connie and I have a son in Year 2.  I am currently a community carer, working in Raunds and the surrounding villages. I have had a background in the care industry for the past 14 years.

I wanted to become a parent governor to support both the school and the parenting body as well as be able to give back to the school. I have had a great deal of support from the school since my son has been in reception. He had not even been in school a week, before I started reaching out for help. The school helped not only my son but also myself, through a very difficult time and allowed us to build on our relationship and become stronger.  Even to this day, they are still supporting myself and my son when needed.

I have chosen to become a parent governor because I would like to help the school to continue to improve on its forward journey and make sure that every parent and child gets the support that I have been so lucky to receive.  I am looking forward to working alongside the school and the rest of the governing body.  Please feel free to talk to me if you wish.
